Ok so as promised, I have compiled a list of toys/gifts that I think at cool for 2015. Most gifts will be for toddler/baby girls because that’s the world I currently live in. Hubby does all the shopping for my son because I have no idea what gadgets are the good ones. Plus my son likes to keep up with trends with things like straight leg jeans and those hoodie dress things that they make for men now. I’m not a fan and refuse to buy either, so I let “cool” dad handle all of that. I’m a kid at heart so I like toys and things that make noise lol. One last disclaimer, this is not like most hot toy lists where they categorize why the toy was selected etc. I picked these h=gifts because they look like fun or seem like something I’d like for my kids. Alright let’s begin!!!!

 

1. Playskool Sesame Street Let’s Imagine Elmo

   Description: Let’s Imagine Elmo is trying on different fun hats, and he’s inviting your little one to sing, count, and play along with him! Whether he’s a counting cowboy, playful prince, singing sea captain, or just being himself, Elmo has 4 playful interactive modes with games, songs, and actions.  Why I Like: I like because it’s Elmo and everyone loves Elmo. Plus I like that it’s educational. Kids love pretend play and fun catchy songs, so I think they’d love playing with this Elmo. Also the fact that it has four play modes decreases the chances of them getting bored easily.

2. Fisher-Price Bright Beats Dance & Move BeatBo

   Description: A press of BeatBo’s tummy or any of the buttons on his feet activates fun songs, learning content and dance moves. This futuristic friend even allows mommy or baby to record a phrase, and he’ll remix it into his favorite song! His 3 modes – Dance ‘n Move, Learning & Games, and Customized Sing-Along – “grow” with baby to make him a fun, entertaining companion for years to come! And all the while, he’s introducing baby to letters, colors, counting, music, cause & effect and much more! Why I like it: It’s adorable!!! I played with it in the store and instantly started smiling. The music isn’t cheesy and that little thing can move. My daughter will definitely love this toy (wink wink).

3. Little Tikes Tumble Train

   Description: Chase and catch the craziest, wildest, and wackiest toy in town for hours of fun! Just press the button to start the train. As the train moves along, the track will tumble around everywhere, inspiring kids to chase after it! The train will randomly reverse directions at times, causing track to roll in unpredictable directions that will capture your child’s attention! This is one toy that will be sure to get kids active! Why I like it: I like it because advertising works. I saw the commercial and I was hooked. This thing looks like so much fun. I wonder how well it works on carpet though. Either way a good toy to keep the kids active and engaged. 

4. VTech Touch and Learn Activity Desk

   Description: Learn and create with the Touch & Learn Activity Desk by VTech. The desk features an interactive desktop and four double-sided cards that introduce numbers, letters, animals, people and more. Flip up the desktop and create a masterpiece using the easel or chalkboard. Toddler play table comes with 160+ vocab words, 30+ learning activities, and 20+ popular melodies; 9 colorful touch pages each with 4 learning modes. Why I like it: My daughter has the older version of this desk. Her grandma gave it to her and she absolutely loves it. It is lots of fun but super educational. Hers doesn’t have the chalkboard component but she still loves it. It’s one of those toys that keeps her engaged for hours without needing me around. This one is super cute and I still might get it since they have an purple version available as an online exclusive. I’m frugal, but I don’t mind splurging on educational things for the kids.

Why I like it: My daughter got this as a birthday present and instantly fell in love. It’s very educational and the songs are extremely catchy. My son and I often randomly start singing the songs. The toy is well constructed and she loves that she can pull the food apart. Certain concepts are too old for her , which is great because she can continue to play with it as she gets older. I also love that everything fits neatly back in the oven for easy cleanup. This is a definite must in my opinion.
