Hope you all had a great weekend. I’m back with the second installment of gifts that I consider cool options for Christmas. So let’s get back to it.
6. VTech Kidizoom Action Cam
Description: The Kidizoom Action Cam by VTech lets little videographers capture their adventures with videos and photos! The Action Cam is a great first video camera for kids and is durable enough to handle drops and tumbles. It can go anywhere and do anything kids can do with two included mounts so they can attach it to their bike, skateboard and more. It also comes with a waterproof case so they can take videos and pictures up to 6 feet underwater! The Action Cam features a 1.4-inch color LCD screen and can take videos and photos in addition to stop-motion videos and time-lapse photos. Your child can also explore their creativity with fun effects, frames and photo filters. They can download their photos and videos to a computer using the included micro USB cable and share them with family and friends. For even more fun, they can also play three exciting learning games. Why I Like It: It’s like a Go Pro camera for kids. There is nothing better than a good adventure, besides being able to relive that adventure through film. Why do you think all those vacation excursion companies make so much money??? People want to be able to relive their once in a lifetime adventures. Plus it has an educational component which is an extra bonus. In addition to all of that, there is a purple option as well 🙂
7. Mega Bloks First Builders Block Scooping Wagon Building Set
Description: Your little builder can expect lots of fun surprises with the Block Picking Wagon by Mega Bloks First Builders! This colorful wagon combines classic wagon play and construction fun with a block-picking surprise, as your little one can push to pick up the included First Builders blocks! Watch the blocks spin inside the clear compartment when your little one pushes the wagon along on its big sturdy wheels. Or, they can pull it along using the easy-to-grip folding handle. Dump the blocks out and use them to build anything your little one can imagine. You can even build directly onto the wagon’s handle! With so many ways to play, your little one will love rolling and building with this block-picker wagon! Why I Like It: I love things that allow kids to be creative. I’ve never met a child who wasn’t somewhat curious about blocks. There are just so many possibilities. Some kids like to build cool stuff, others like to knock down what the other kids built. What I really like about this set is the scoop feature for additional fun and easy clean up. Kids love things with wheels, so I think this is a wonderful option.
8.Story Reader Me Reader and Disney Classics 8-Book Library
Description: The Story Reader Me Reader and Disney Classics 8-Book Library is a new electronic reading system from the makers of Story Reader 2.0. The Me Reader is a 4½x6-inch electronic pad that reads out loud each of eight Disney Classics storybooks. The reading pad is compatible only with the storybooks included in the set. The Me Reader system is recommended for children ages 3 years and older. The device is simple to work. To begin, children select one of the eight storybook buttons on the Me Reader, which is made of sturdy hard plastic. Next, they find the storybook they have selected, open to the first page of the story, and press a “Read Story” button on the pad to activate the narrator’s voice. Each time they turn a page, children again press a “Read Story” button to continue hearing the story. Kids know which “Read Story” button to press by matching those on the pad with those in the storybook. Why I Like It: I am a firm believer in encouraging children to love reading. I hated reading when I was little and that made things a lot harder for me academically. I always viewed reading as a task, instead of enjoying the stories or information that I was learning. My sister on the other hand, loved reading and could easily entertain herself reading books all day. I always thought that was amazing. Reading allows children to use their imagination and view the characters based on their own perspective versus accepting what is presented to them in movies and television. On top of this encouraging reading, it is Disney Classics. All kids should learn the classic Disney stories. Everyone needs a little Disney in their lives 🙂
9. Doc McStuffins Walk ‘N Talk Doc Mobile
Description: Inspired by the hit series, Doc McStuffins on Disney Junior Channel. Doc McStuffins is a doctor to stuffed toys and animals. The series promotes aspirational play and delivers a daily dose of positivity to viewers with Doc’s easygoing, approachable way of helping her friends in need. Don’t you worry, Doc will be there in a hurry with the Doc Mobile. Doc really walks with her mobile to help toys in need everywhere! She talks and sings with Lambie as her mobile siren lights up. When Doc gets there open up the back of the mobile and get to work. Included: Doc, Lambie, Stethoscope, thermometer, horoscope and magnifying glass. Why I Like It: More Bang for your buck is always a win in my book!!!! You get three toys for the price of one. Plus I love the how empowering the image of a black female doctor is to young minority children. Little girls and boys like Doc. Plus I love the fact that it moves and sings to keep their attention. They can sleep with Doc, take Lambie in the car and push the Doc mobile around.
10. Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Smart Stages Puppy
Description: Baby’s favorite puppy, with new Smart Stages learning fun! He’s the same soft, cuddly friend that responds to baby’s touch with silly sayings and sing-along songs – but now he’s got Smart Stages technology that changes the learning content as baby grows! Because every baby develops at their own pace, Smart Stages technology gives you the ability to select the stage that’s best for your child. There are a variety of developmentally appropriate songs, phrases and sounds within three levels of play. Puppy’s light-up heart even twinkles along to the music! Why I Like It: I’ve seriously never met a child that doesn’t love these little things. It’s my go to gift. They make a girl version as well, but I don’t think kids really care either way. It’s soft and cuddly and extremely educational. If in doubt pick up one of these and throw it in a gift bag.
Well folks that completes my list of hot toys for 2015. Hopefully, you are done shopping by now. If not go out and try to find you one of these toys. Enjoy your holidays and don’t forget to teach your children to true reason for the season. It’s not just about the gifts and pretty lights. Thanks for reading and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!
